Procedure:

Tic-tack-toe

In this game students review the content about muscles, bones and joints that they have learnt in previous activities.
This is a Total Physical Response (TPR) game because students must run, remember, think and decide.
They get in groups of six. One group is the “upper part of the body” and the other is the “lower part of the body”. In their groups the pupils must be one behind the other.
There are six labels in front of them. Each label is blank.
There are six hoops (in three rows of three) ten metres away from the labels.
Each team has a pen.
Aim of the game: to complete the tick-tack-toe with one muscle, one bone and one joint (of the lower or upper part of the body depending on the game you are in).
How to play: the first member of each team runs to the labels, takes one and writes down the name of one (bone, muscle or join) and runs to the hops. Puts the label in one of the hops and comes back running to their group. When the player reaches their group passes the pen to the second one who does the same.
When they have placed all the labels, they carry on with the game changing the position of one label in each turn until one group gets their three labels in a row.
First team to complete the tick-tack-too wins a point.
The teacher will check the game and provides feed-back to the pupils.
Analyse
Students are explained what the activity consist of, and they decide the order each participant has in the development of the game. They have to make other decisions such us who is going to write a joint, who a muscle and who a bone, and which strategy they are going to follow.
Add
Learners begin doing the task, in turns they take a label, write down a bone, joint or a muscle, and put it in a hoop trying to complete the tic -tac -toe.
Apply
We correct the task and provide feedback about how they have played.  We use self-assessment using questions such as: have you played in a team? Have you used a good strategy? Or how can you improve your performance?
After that we will ask the students how to make the game more difficult and  they may say for example, the labels are already done with the name of the most difficult muscles, bones and joints. Then they will vote for the best idea and play again with the new rule.
